What if….oh….what if there were a way to double the number of kids in Propel’s Sponsorship Program?
Wouldn’t that be great?!?! Having every kid who has signed up be fully sponsored and able to be kitted out for school! Wow!!!!
But…how?
How do we find 40+ more amazing people willing to make this dream a reality?
We had a few not-so-good ideas to achieve this goal:
– Reduce the number of registered students by 50%.
– Give the current students half of the support they should be getting, then share the difference with new kids.
– Secretly add another student to each current sponsors’ account.
– Print our own Serbian Dinar.
– Taking the current support funds to the casino.
– A Telethon.
As stated earlier, these were the not-so-good ideas.
After much (very much) more thought, some really good ideas starting to percolate in our heads. Dare we say these are ideas are so good your mom would hang them on the refrigerator door with a magnet?!
Better Idea #1
Does your employer provide matching funds for charitable contributions? Could you check their guidelines to see if they would match your current support? We will gladly provide any information they require.
Better Idea #2
Why do you support Propel? How does it make you feel? Who do you know (family members, friends, co-workers, baristas, neighbours, etc.), who share your heart for those in need and would love the benefits of being a student sponsor? Maybe you have an idea of your own. Something uniquely “you”. Something brave, crazy, but legal. If it works for you, and it helps kids get an education, it works for us. Please feel free to share.
Right now we have about 40+ kids in need of sponsors. If new sponsors could start in February, enough money would be available to help them out for the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you.
