If you could mould the world into a better place, where would you start? In your own town? Somewhere in your home state/province? Or maybe, some far-off land, where the language, culture, food, and people… are not like you. An adventure perhaps?

Why bother? Really. Why go through all the trouble of raising money, travelling, eating strange foods, not understanding what people are saying, weird toilets, and the dreadful possibility of neither internet nor phone service?

Because.

  • Because something inside of you wants to do  more with your time, talents, abilities, and life.
  • Because you want to make a difference in the lives of others.
  • Because you yearn for the opportunity to use your Super Powers for good.
  • Because you’ve read this far.
  • Because people need you.

Who?

  • The children begging in the streets.
  • The families living in abject poverty.
  • The refugees from countless civil wars.
  • The lost, the hurting, the forgotten.

How can you help? Here’s a few examples of purpose-driven teams, but feel free to share your ideas!

  • Education Camps.  Imagine using your imagination and skills to help kids in math, science, music, reading, and who knows what else….disguised as fun and games…but all designed to sharpen kids’ minds during their summer break. Let’s show kids the world is their classroom.
  • VBS. This might seem “old school”, but in a place where these kids live in hardship and poverty, events like a VBS have a huge impact. Not only do the kids have fun and learn important life lessons, after you leave, there is follow-up, involvement, and further interaction. You might bring something totally new. You might follow up on what a team before you had started. Regardless, you’re bringing light.
  • Construction and Extreme Make-Overs. OK, we’re not making bedrooms out of 747 cockpits or turning back yards into 18 hole golf courses. Can you paint? Clean? Carry? Dig? Wash? Swing a hammer? Run a saw? You can be painting, repairing windows that let in the winter cold, fixing leaky roofs, or any number of tasks/projects that turn some extremely rough living conditions into a bit more like a home.
  • Community. Can you see yourself teaming up with us and multiple churches and local governmental agencies to love on a city? Providing supplies to start home gardens?  Picking up garbage, cleaning parks, and more, all in an effort to show people that someone cares?

Other possibilities….

  • Photography?
  • Video?
  • Music?
  • Cooking?
  • Life skills?
  • Mentoring?

Each team experience is unique and custom-made. Generally speaking we recommend:

  • Planning for a total of about 9-10 days. One travel day in each direction. 7-8 days in-country.
  • A team size of 6-12 people. Arrangements can be made for smaller or larger groups.
  • Team member ages, 16 and up. Arrangements can be made for younger folk.

Where will you stay?

  • We believe a hard day’s work deserves a good night’s rest. Lodgings arrangements are modern, comfortable, and secure.
  • You will be sharing a room.

What will we eat?

  • Food. Great food. Wonderful food. Meals will be a mix of self-catering (DIY), packed lunches, some great home-made meals, plus visits to some of our favourite local eateries.

How do we get around town?

  • All in-country transportation is provided. This could be a mixture of rented vans, taxis, and some good old-fashion walking.

What does it cost?

  • Wth each team being unique ( team size, length of stay, projects) it is hard to provide a “one-size fits-all” number. Specific costs will be worked out as we plan your team’s visit.

What’s covered?

  • All in-country transportation from the team’s point of entry (this would be Nikola Tesla Int’l Airport in Belgrade)
  • Lodging for ministry time spent in country
  • Meals
  • Interpreters/Translation
  • A portion of the team’s costs are applied to Propel operating expenses and on-going ministry project and missionary support.

What’s not covered?

  • Airfare or other travel expenses to get to point of entry
  • Medical/Travel Insurance
  • Sight-seeing/excursion admission fees
  • Souvenirs

When can we bring a team?

  • Teams can visit between March-late September. We will post dates for specific events such as camps, etc.

Let us know what you’re thinking.
