You’re part of a Christian ministry. Do you only help other Christians?
The whole idea of loving others means no boundaries. We follow our beliefs to reach others, not ignore them.
How is my money used?
Every donation will be used for one or more Propel initiatives. Of all funds received no less than 90% will be used in the field. The balance is used to fuel operations, plan for expansion, pay bank fees, etc.
Can I visit Serbia?
Yes. You are more than welcome. There are opportunities every year for Short-Term and Exploratory Teams. Interested? Let us know.
Where in Serbia do you work?
Novi Sad is the crucible, laboratory, and focus point. It is Serbia’s second largest city and home to over 400,000 residents. Propel started here because of some great already-established relationships with fellow sharers of the vision.
How can I support this work?
This deserves a multiple choice answer, and it can be “all of the above”.
– Prayer is always appreciated; for each facet of the ministry, for all families involved, for all our partners, and (please) for us. There is no such thing as too much prayer.
– Be an Advocate. Be a voice. If the work of this ministry resonates with you…let others know. Share the website, like the Facebook page, send tweets, talk, communicate.
– There’s always financial support, or better yet, investment.
Are you building a school?
At this point…no. Students will be attending the local public school system with their peers.
Can I sponsor an individual student?
Yes. If you have a heart for a particular student we can accept donations, messages, cards, gifts, etc. on their behalf.
What happens if a sponsored student moves?
There are two possibilities. If the move involves a short enough distance, we will strive to keep working with the family. If a family relocates to another area of Serbia, or beyond, any residual funds for that student will be used towards any deficits or for a new student.
Who determines which students are helped through our donations?
Candidates are recommended by our local church partner and community leaders. The final decision is ours.
How old are the students being sponsored?
There is no limit. Right now they range in age from 5-23 years old.
Are you only supporting classroom education?
We believe education can happen anywhere, so there will be opportunities to fund traditional classroom education, and more. Your support can help with tutoring, educational camps, and remedial classes. We also offer a pre-education preparedness program (Launchpad), which helps parents in getting their kids ready to attend school.
What is your big, scary, audacious dream?
– Hundreds of kids in school, getting a proper education, and having real lives.
– Seeing communities change, then cities, and finally the nation, as these first few ripples become waves of educated citizens with the power to change the future.
